Thank You Note and Coburg Village Reference

When it came time for my mother, Carol, to move from a cottage at Coburg Village into the main building, she and I both had a great deal of anxiety about the move. For my mother, leaving her home of 13 years caused her to wonder which of her most cherished possessions and furniture she would have to leave behind. As an OSS (out-of-state son), I couldn’t imagine how I would cope with the logistics of the move, from finding a mover to hauling away the junk that had accumulated in the garage to downsizing my mother’s clothing and household items.

Fortunately the marketing staff at Coburg referred us to Holly Pajak of Senior Moves by Design NY. We chose to work with Holly because of her substantial experience with moves at Coburg.

The schematic plan she made for furniture placement in the new apartment immediately reassured my mother that she would have room for all her most familiar furniture. It also gave her another way to visualize what living in the new apartment would be like.

Holly exercised tremendous diplomacy and tact in helping my mother downsize her clothes and housewares. Mom often commented that she felt that Holly had gotten to know her and that she trusted Holly’s recommendations and suggestions. I appreciated that Holly knew where to donate or dispose of all of the items we weren’t taking to the new apartment. And she did an excellent job keeping me in the loop at each step.

The move went very smoothly, a tribute to Holly’s organization and hard work. She and her colleagues handled the packing and unpacking with professionalism and good humor.
